Building a Sense of Democracy
Democracy in Action (September 1st - 4th)
Dowal School has always promoted the value of democracy. One of our school's proposal to achieve this goal has been our Students Council's electoral process that begins in each grade, when the class council is chosen.
Leader Workshop (October 2nd )
As part of developing a awareness about the role of each class council member, we held the Leadership Workshop. During this activity, the Orientation Department, Academic Coordination, Disciplinary Coordination, and the students' advisors had the opportunity to agree upon the strategies to fulfill their tasks.
Election Day (October 8th)
During Election Day students from 1st to 6th grade participated enthusiastically of this democratic process. Every kid had the privilege to vote and practice what, in the future, will help them choose the leaders of a new Honduras. Teachers, parents, and students were involved in this formal process. The final tallying revealed the names of the new representatives.

Lissien Barahona has the responsibility to lead, as ESTUCO President, the new Elementary Student Council. Ms. Yadira Guifarro, as their advisor, will have the opportunity to guide them during this school year as they accomplish their goals.
ESTUCO Induction (October 16th)
The next step was to formally introduce our new ESTUCO 2009-2010 to the school community. This ceremony took place in an ambience of civism, responsibility, and commitment.
Government Plan Presentation (October 20th)
The students presented their Government Plan and we could observe how they have acquired a sense of citizenship, planning academic,sports and social-cultural activities within school and outreaching beyond . We must continue developing strong values in those who will be HONDURAS' NEW LEADERS.
