Can Students Set an Example of Democracy?
Our school recently held elections to vote for the members of the High school Student Council; students eagerly cast their votes in order to select their representatives.
The electoral campaign was carried out with respect and responsibility. The candidates tried to obtain votes through different means of propaganda and the culmination of the campaign was the famous speeches that traditionally close the electoral run. The public listened carefully and, according to some analysts, these were well-structured and praise worthy, reflecting Dowal's student body degree of democratic maturity.
The elections were held on Friday October 9th with massive student participation. The members of the ballot reception committees fulfilled their duty in a responsible manner, ensuring the transparency of the process. The proceedings were observed by two representatives of the Parents Society, Mrs. Leticia Castillo and Mrs. Selma Kammerbauer.
