Many Reasons to Thank
This year's Thanksgiving Preschool celebration was of course filled with pilgrims, Indians, and no doubt, a turkey. The children of Kinder B worked really hard at memorizing their lines and practicing their hunting skills as they chased around the stage Jorge, our turkey. All 16 kindergarteners had a different role to play and lines they had to learn to say without anyone else's help.
Our play began with our pilgrims marching in, singing a song and talking about how tired they are form the long journey they have been on. It is after this that we are introduced to the Indians, who offer to teach the pilgrims all the trades and traits it takes to survive in this cold, new, and different land. Once united as one team, the pilgrims and indians find a turkey to eat and they sing as they run around trying to hunt the turkey that shall become their meal. The story finishes with our cast and crew all seated around the table, thanking God for all He has provided them with and eating all their delicious food; corn, rice, beans, and of course, the turkey.
We enjoyed traveling back in time and reenacting this even in history, but more than anything we enjoyed learning and talking about all the things we are to be grateful each day.
