Class of 2009
On June 19th, 2009, Dowal School held its eleventh Commencement Exercises for the graduating class in which 49 students joined a distinctive and select group of 400 Dowal School ex-alumni.
Expectations were excelled by the attending guests as they stood witness to the elegance, decoration, and organization of such event. The attention to detail made the event an absolute success and an unforgettable experience.
Students received highly expected awards and recognitions for their efforts throughout this school year and all their students' life. The John Walter Award for High School was given to Christian Lazarus, who joined thirteen fellow classmates who obtained the High School diploma as well. Christian also made himself the proud recipient of the Gral.José Francisco Morazán Medal. Diego Ardón won the Computer Science Award and joined fifteen classmates who were also conferred their degree as Computer Science Technicians. Julia Gómez was then called to receive the Excellence in Community Service Medal, which she was awarded for her outstanding social commitment. The Valedictorian for the Class of 2009 is Christian Lazarus and Salutatorian, Francis Valladares, obtaining such honors for their high grades throughout their senior year.
As the ceremony reached its closure, a mixture of emotions filled the air. Laughter and tears meshed for the journey ended, and the one about to begin.
