Dowal School's Annual Science Fair
Technology, innovation, discovery, and problem-solving are some of the words we rarely hear in our environment. Honduras is not known around the world for its scientific discoveries and advances. Nevertheless, Dowal School students are a living statement that this reputation can be reverted.
December 12th, 2009 is going to be remembered as a very important day for many students and teachers. It was the day of Dowal School's Annual Science Fair; an event promoted ideas or ways to solve problems in our country. Honduras has many problems, but our students were able to propose viable solutions for them. They demonstrated that we can stop looking at national problems from a negative perspective and determine ourselves to think of ways to prevent or, actually, solve them.
Dowal School students have proved that with some imagination, effort, inventiveness, and will power any problem in our country can be solved. We can only hope that organizations around the country approach and observe some of the very interesting suggestions that all of our students have presented.
In conclusion, we would like to thank everyone who was involved in the organization of this Science Fair. As teachers, we are very proud of the effort and interest that all students have exhibited to make this event possible. We will direct all of our effort to encourage more students to participate and show their potential in such an important event.
